LOS ANGELES – Sylmar Studios was selected as a recipient of the 2024 Community Impact Award at the Los Angeles Business Council’s (LABC) 54th Annual Los Angeles Architectural Awards. The prestigious award, presented yearly to companies and organizations making significant contributions to the Los Angeles community, was awarded to Sylmar Studios for their building and investment in new soundstages. The award presentation took place at the Beverly Hilton on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Sylmar Studios was poised to become the premier destination for filmmakers seeking a distinctive blend of cutting-edge resources and personalized attention. Nestled just north of Los Angeles, within the coveted thirty-mile-zone, the independent-for-rent production facility epitomized the essence of boutique service within the sprawling entertainment landscape.
The 300,000-square-foot facility was thoughtfully designed by premier architects Ware Malcomb with XBC Building Company and Bomel Construction serving as principal contractors. The building is owned by Bledsoe XC, LLC. and was developed by Xebec Realty Partners.
Sylmar Studios is home to six purpose-built sound stages equipped with catwalks and perms to support world-class productions. It is one of the most high-tech properties of its kind. Each stage features adjoining elephant doors and direct access to production support space.
The LABC Architectural Awards ceremony honored community-wide enhancements to the complex urban fabric of Los Angeles. The ceremony had previously awarded the Community Impact prize to the likes of Destination Crenshaw and The Beehive, both in South LA, for their work in historically Black neighborhoods, and Century Housing for its efforts in alleviating the housing crisis in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Business Council advocates on behalf of local businesses to promote progress and strengthen public policy.
